Spring is in the Air...Finally

Finally Eagar has given us some nice days and it couldn't have come at a better time because between the snow in May and wind clocked at 122 mph I was about to pack up and call it quits! Its days when it is 70 here and 98 in the valley that I remember how blessed I am to live her....

for part of the year anyway :)

We have been getting out of the house as much as we can lately

It really is great to live in a little place so close to the mountains where we can take Cash to spend some time in the fresh air. He is such a little mountain boy already and loves to be outside whenever he gets the chance!

Workin' It Out

Three words. POST BABY BODY. buh.

January 1st I whipped it into gear.....kinda.

I started doing work out videos at home, ugh. Talk about feeling stupid. I swear even Cash would laugh at me. I can't stand working out at home, and its hard to get motivated. But I worked out 4 days a week all the way through March and also cut back a little bit on snacks and soda, and I got down to my weight before I was prego, which I was very happy about. But my body still needed work, even if you weigh the same everything is just....different. You mommys out there know what I'm talking about.

So my good friend and sister in law Amber talked me into joining a gym with her. I was very reluctant (for some strange reason I have a BIG issue with gyms?!) but I had to do something...I have been dreading swimsuit season that has been closing in on me quicker than I expected.

3 weeks ago today, I joined a gym.

I thought I would be overwhelmed and intimidated....but I wasn't

I thought I would hate it.....but I didn't.

to be honest. I really like it.

Its nice to get out and do something for ME an hour a day, and since Amber and I swich babysitting the kids and go during the day, it doesn't take away from my family time or anything. Its working out really well actually. I haven't lost weight but I'm trying to focus more on how I feel and how my clothes fit. Everyday I go it makes me a little less nervous to get in that swimsuit!

What have we been up to? Well Shane just got done working a 6 week outage out at work and while Dads at work......Mom plays! haha I am lucky to have a husband that works hard so I can do All the fun things I do! Like....

Visiting Grammie in the valley, whenever Shane is working a lot I love to go see my mom and all my family in the valley! Cash Loves grammies house and we gets so spoiled down there!

Learning new things everyday! Not only can Cash crawl but he pulls himself up and takes steps around the couch and table!

Cash 6 months...Already?!

Look at this little man. He is so sweet, and just a couple days ago he turned 6 months old! Its crazy how fast the past 6 months have gone. About a week ago i packed away all his teeny tiny newborn clothes and it was so sad :( My mom told me well i guess its time for another one.....it wasnt THAT sad haha. I have to say i love the stage he is in. He is so happy and funny and getting so smart and strong!

He does this as soon as he rolls over! He wants to crawl so bad and he just cant figure out his arms.

He moves them both at once and face plants and let me tell you that doesnt make him very happy. I am afraid he is going to figure it out before I am ready for him to be mobile!

He has gotten pretty good at scooting too.

He loves to eat. Anything and everything I will let him have, besides baby food of course! He hates it, just turns his head or spits it out. So its been interesting trying to find things I can give him....but i gotta say one of my favorite things is sharing a bowl of oatmeal with this little fella in the morning.

I mean ya.....he can be a little monster sometimes...

...But you gotta love that face!

Hey there sports fans!

K so I'm going to start this by saying I'm not usually into sports, at all. I go to super bowl parties for the food and commercials....and I usually tone out and make something or clean when there is a basketball game on that shane wants to watch.....

BUT, there is one one exception. I have always loved baseball. I grew up watching my brother play it and my mom taught me how to take stats so I actually understand the game. I mean come on its the American pass time, plus who doesn't love a guy in baseball pants :) As I said I grew up watching it, but hadn't really watched it since my brother was in high school except for the occasional professional game on tv and a few diamondbacks games at Chase field.

THEN I MARRIED A YANKEES FAN......

The first year we were married the yankees weren't to hot, the team was just not together at all but Shane still watched every game that was on tv and kept up with the stats religiously online. I have to admit it was a little bit much for me at times....I just didn't get it.

The 2009 season came. I was pregnant most of the season and for some reason I just cared more. When games would be on Tv I would text shane at work and say yankees game tonight! I'll make a good dinner and we can watch it, I started to get to know the players....and I even knew the line up.

During the playoffs Cash was born. The yankees were doing really good and a lot of shanes family are fans so we started getting together for games, I even made Cash this cute little onesie! I was hooked.

The yankees did great in the playoffs and beat the phillies in game 6 to become world series champs! It was such an awesome season for them and I finally feel like after following them for a whole season I can say I'm a true fan.

SO all of that was leading up to this announcement that I'm very excited about! We get to go watch the yankees vs. diamondbacks play at chase field in June. Even more exciting we got box seats and were going with Shanes brother and sister and their spouses who are all fans too! its going to be so fun! I'm excited to go in my Yankees shirt and be proud of it! Lets hear it for those yankees!

Monday was Shane and I's two year anniversary. I know it probably sounds cliche but it really has gone by so fast. We have been so blessed in the last two years and it makes me excited for our years to come. In the last two years we have... (in no particular order)

Birthday Weekend!

This friday was my 21st birthday and we had big plans to go down to the valley, hangout with my family, shop and get family pictures taken! But then this happened....

There was a HUGE snow storm! We only got about 8 inches in town but the mountains around us are supposed to have 3-4 feet! So we decided to stay home and not risk driving in the snow. We made the most of it and had a really good weekend anyway.

Cash was so amazed with the snow it really was the cutest thing, he just stared out the window for a long time and he would look at me and smile like....look momma!

We spent the morning of my birthday just laying around in our pjs being lazy, then we went out to lunch at goobs pizza with all my sister in laws and their kiddos, it was so good! That night we went over to Shanes parents for a birthday dinner and played games, we laughed a lot and it was really fun.

The rest of the weekend was really laid back, we just stayed in and relaxed, shane even let me sleep in and he got up with cash! What more can a mom ask for for her birthday! :) I did get some scrapbooking done too! I was so excited to finally get my stuff out and get after it again, and it took a while to get my creative juices flowin.....but i got all of my pregnancy pictures and cashs hospital pictures done. I did 9 layouts which i know doesn't sound like a whole lot but it is for a girl like me who takes forever to do one page.

So over all it was a great weekend, I love my little family and I had a wonderful birthday. Plus who could resist spending a weekend at home with this little snow angel?

This week I am hoping to get some more scrapbooking done, and I need to make a laptop bag for shanes cousin who has been wanting me to make her one since Christmas! We are hoping to get down to the valley this weekend, so we can celebrate my birthday with my family then. Hopefully it won't storm again!

Starting Over.

I realise I made a blog and then realllllly sucked at keeping up with it, and today I wondered why. I spend too much time on the computer anyway, I should do something productive about it. Part of it is that I have been a busy little momma, but thats probably not a great excuse because now that I have little Cash it should give me even more reason to keep up with this. Sometimes I'll start a post about something random and I think, who would care about this? But I care about the lives of peoples blogs I follow..........really I have no good excuse. So I'm STARTING OVER. Im going to blog it up.{hopefully} and I will start with a random post about my life in the last four and a half months.

First off, this wonderful little man. September 5th he entered my world and I know it will never be the same, he is so wonderful. I always wanted to be a mom...and then when it came right down to it i was really scared, and now that i actually am i love it. He makes it an easy job. He really is a happy baby.
Ten things I love about Cash at 4 months:
1. He is super smiley and giggles all the time.
2.He loves his dad and loves to play.
3.He is SO close to rolling over but his dang little arm gets in the way, its so funny.
4.He is chubby.
5.He is Mr. Independant. He won't let me hold him like a baby or rock him to sleep anymore...which is kinda bitter sweet because I miss it. But it is nice.
6. He is so alert and smart.
7. He loves the book "What Can Simon Be?" Thanks grammie!
8. He is obsessed with pulling his bink out of his mouth and trying to get it back in the right way, he still hasnt figured it out haha.
9.He loves to play in his bouncer that santa brought him
10. He yells at me when i leave the room....he kinda likes having me around.

So that has taken up the biggest chunk of my life for the last little while, not to bad i'd have to say. Other than that I have been trying to craft every chance I get, Keeping my house borderline clean, keeping up with laundry and bills, and just trying to be the best little housewifey i can! Cash is at the stage where I have a little bit more time so I hope to get some projects done in the next few months. I did do quite a bit for Christmas. But now that they are out of site I feel like I haven't done anything in months. I also painted my living room, brown and green big suprise, and have some home projects i'd like to get done.

Well this is starting to be a rant but I just wanted to catch up a little bit. I PROMISE you will hear from me again soon.

CASH NIKOLAUS HAMBLIN

Cash is finally here! He was born Saturday September 5th at 10:53am. He was seven pounds two ounces and 19 and 1/2 inches long. At my Dr. appt tuesday I had very little progress and with my due date two days away that was discouraging but thursday night I started having contractions around 9pm timing 8 minutes apart. I thought for sure I would end up in the hospital that night. But they didnt get any closer together! So i had contractions all that night all day Friday and finally went into the hospital at one am on saturday morning when my contractions were 4 minutes apart and i was already dialated to a 3. By 5am i was at a 4 and at 9 i was at a 6 and the dr broke my water. At 10 I told the nurse to check me because i was feeling pressure....and i was ready to push! I started pushing at 10:20 and he was here by 10:53! It was an amazing experience and I was just overwhelmed with happiness when he was finally in my arms.

He is such a good baby, eating every three hours around the clock but sleeping very good at night. He hardly ever cries. He has blue eyes. He wrinkles up his forehead when he opens his eyes really wide. He loves to sleep in his carseat and sit in his little soothing vibrations chair. He scratches my back with his long little fingers when i burp him and he already snores when he sleeps. He looks like his dad and loves to sleep on shanes chest. He loves his little hands and sucking on his fist. I told Shane what did we do before this little guy? Our lives were so boring!

As of this Thursday I will be 28 weeks and there is DEFINATELY no hiding it! I love being prego and feeling him move all the time. He moves the most at night when Shane and I are laying in bed talking so I think he likes his dad : ) we can't wait for him to be here!

This weekend my sisters came up and stayed with Shane and I. It was so fun to have them and our nieces there! On friday night we packed everyone up and went up to greenspeak to have dinner and roast marshmallows. We met Brad and amber evan and willie up there and had fun cooking and just hanging out. Mayli and Tori had so much fun running around and playing with Junior. Me cath and nikki had to laugh though because now I am a mountain girl and they are still valley girls haha!
I think by this time little Tori was playing in Shanes truck, it was a little too cold for her and she had more fun just hanging out in the truck!

Even though i have been slacking on my blog it doesn't mean we have been lazy lately. Shane and I have both been busy with lots of summer projects. Now that it is warm we have just had an itch to get some stuff done. I have been working a lot on getting the babys room ready and just little projects around the house and Shane started our yard. I have always told him I love having a lot of grass and that is what im gettin! it is still a work in progress.
This is our yard as of today, some grass is coming up, but we are still pretty much in the water and straw stage.

This is a little blanket I made for baby Cash. I love the baseball print and satin edge. It is one of three that I have been working on but this is the only one that is done so far. This is a little table that my Aunt Linda bought me for my birthday at a yard sale. She knows me so well and knew I would love a little project to fix up.
I painted it then roughed up the paint a little, bought new knobs and last but not least added some pretty wallpaper to the top. I really like how it turned out and it was a perfect weekend project. Thanks Aunt Linda. Now i just need to figure out what to hang above it....hmm....
I have a few other projects going that are half done, I will post more when they are complete!

Taylor Swift Concert!

Catherine graduated this year! Crazy I know....but for her graduation present I got us tickets to the Taylor Swift concert at glendale arena (where the coyotes play). It was the night after her graduation so it worked out perfectly. I wanted to suprise her but she got it out of me before so we were both so excited to go! We had so much fun, we went with my two sister in laws Amber and Megan, and a couple friends Kenzi and Aleece. They were a really fun group to go with we all were just goof balls the whole time but it made it even more fun.

Ultrasound!

We were so anxious to find out! The ultrasound lady told us that she may not be able to get a good gender picture but he wasn't shy at all about showing his parts! We got some great pictures of his face too :) Both of us were kinda thinking it was a girl so we were suprised! (pleasantly suprised) I know Shane is so happy and so am I! We are still deciding on names. We love the name Cash but haven't decided on a middle name or anything. Shane said today now he wishes we just had him so I think the next 20 weeks of this might go by a little slower than the first!

This winter has gone by so fast, but still I am ready for spring! I am just like my momma I hate being cold! This is a picture of Shane and I on a sledding trip with a few friends over Christmas break, its a couple months old but I love the picture because Shane is covered in snow! It was FREEZING and I didn't sled a lot but the cold didn't stop him from treading through the waist deep snow to build jumps and sled like a crazy man.
This is a little late too but the first of this month was our one year anniversary! Shane and I had an amazing first year of marriage... it went by so fast! I am a lucky girl, he is such an easy person to love and take care of. I am so proud of what we have accomplished in the last year and am anxious for what will come in the years to come.
Baby Bump! Every morning when I wake up I lay on my back and look down at my tummy and say....nope not yet! but Friday morning there was something there! I have been wanting to show for so long now and it seems to be finally happening! It makes it a little more real :) When Shane was taking the picture he had to say Don't stick it out just act normal! So this really is just relaxed and normal. I love that little bump I am always rubbing my stomach and Shane asks if I feel sick, but i just love to feel my little love bump and know our little baby is growing! Through the pregnancy I get on whattoexpect.com and it tells me all about the little baby from week to week. Every week baby is growing so much and they always compare he/she to something usually a fruit or veggie..... so thats what I call our little baby for that week. First it was Blueberry then in was Olive, not long after that it was Prune and next week it will be my little Peach!

Big Macs

Being prego for the last month and a half has been a pretty interesting experience for me.... Don't get me wrong I love it! But since the first of January I have been sick every morning, and occasionally throughout the day depending on the things I saw and smelled (working for a foot doctor maybe not the best thing). I have had NO appetite and basically Shane has had to force feed me. Things I usually love like salad and chicken make me cringe, and my usually snacky self even turns away from brownies and candy : (

Then finally....... I saw the light, things changed this week! I have been feeling much less sick (I only threw up twice!) And I'm having my first craving.......... Big Macs. Big Macs? Yes.... Big Macs. Honestly before this week I have probably only had one in my lifetime, and this week I had 3! and I would have had 10 more if they weren't 4 bucks! Oh how I long for the days when they were 99 cents! I love them, they are my favorite thing right now and even uploading that picture made my mouth water. I could get used to this craving thing, hello appetite! I have missed you!

My homemade stockings made from Shanes old pants and some Christmas flannel. I also stitched our names on the pocket. I think they turned out pretty cute. Plus I love my cute sparkly sign from ABC Distributing!
I made this sign because its a quote from Shanes favorite christmas movie, The Grinch. (the cartoon one) I used all my different stamps for the lettering then just added some fun buttons and bling. I did it one a 2 x 2 foot particle board from home depot, cheap and fun! Gotta love that.

Christmas [part one]

We have been Busy little elves around here getting ready for Christmas..

We put up our lights and I showed Shane the amazing talent I got from my mom....writing words in the fence! He was a little sketchy about it at first but was impressed with the finish product.
While I worked on the fence he hung the lights on the House....So brave! I had to go half way up the ladder and hand him something and that was enough for me.
We also decorated our house, I bought our tree and ornaments last year after christmas so I have been looking at them in our closet for months very anxious to put them up!

Its a little early to be counting my blessings but it just couldn't wait until thanksgiving. This month has been so amazing and I have so many things to be thankful for, let me just name a few....

Cowen Hamblin [my wonderful father-in-law] had a kidney and pancreas transplant on Monday November 10th. He has been on the waiting list for over a year, doing dialysis every other day, and struggling with Diabetes and Kidney Disease for many years. It is obviously a major surgery so he is still in Phoenix recovering but he will be able to come home right before Christmas new and Improved
Our new house, I am loving moving everything into it and making it cute. I am especially thankful for my craft room....love love love it.
Shane. He is so helpful especially with hanging all the stuff in our house and moving around the heavy stuff.
My job, they were so nice about me taking off the extra time for Cowens surgery.... and not to toot my own horn but I got employee of the month! 30$ movie theatre gift card Heck Yes!
Friends and Family. I was able to be in Mesa for Caths 18th birthday and I loved spending time with my family and people I don't get to see often like Katie and Natalie.

Toe nail polish....new self done pedicure makes me feel pretty.
Bean and cheese burritos from short stop. One of the many reasons I love living in round valley, they are amazing if your ever in town, get one! There is nothing else like them.
Our dog Junior. He makes me so happy and he is getting so good at catching a frisbee!

Nikki "tagged" me to post the 4th picture on my computer and explain it so here it goes...

This is all my moms family and my brothers and sisters at my moms wedding to Barry Platts. It was such a wonderful day my mom was so happy she was glowing she looked beautiful. I thought this day would be so hard but it wasn't I was just so happy for her and Barry. They are so good to me and they are so good for each other, I love you both! Now I tag katie and Jen.

P.S. Im counting this as my blog with a picture before the weekend is up. I know its a cop out kinda but oh well I promised and this is going to have to be enough!

I haven't posted in almost 2 months?! Thats crazy, life has been crazy. There are several reasons that I haven't posted like.....

1.We have been going through the process of buying a house and i have been very busy getting all the paperwork together (are you kidding me last three years of tax returns?!) But the sunny side is we close on the thirtieth of this month! 4 more days :)

2. I haven't scrapbooked at all because we have been packing and i have just have had a creative block. I have lots of fun ideas for the new house though. Yay!

3. I haven't taken any pictures lately, and therefore I have had none to post.

I know, i know excuses excuses! but my goal is to be better for my mom and nikki and katie because i miss them so much! I promise a new blog *with pictures* by next weekend.

So... i am using my new internet [yay!] which means that i have access to the photos on my home computer so i wanted to share some of the pages i have been working on lately. Sorry in advance that you cant read much of the journaling, i am having a hard time figuring out which setting on my camera is best for this.

Oh and P.s. i can't believe i am one of those people that scrapbooks their dog but oh well its just so cute how he really is shanes best friend and i cant help but want to make a memory of it!

Just FYI....shane and I are getting the internet in two days!! so now i can blog more post more comment more and i have to be honest that just makes my day! we havent had the internet at home since we got married so i always have to sneak on at work (like im doing now) But those days are finally over :) and i couldn't be happier.

Well i know i havent posted in a while...i am just busy busy! But i just wanted to take a minute and tell my sister NIKKI how much i love her and will miss her now that she is in Utah! Her and her girls are the sunshine in my life and always have been:) I'm just so thankful that we have always been close and i hope it stays that way even with us far apart! I love you Nik, Mayli, Tori and even AJ! you all will be so missed!

Well one thing is for sure, we have a lot of family! And thats good because wherever we go we have people we love to see and hang out with. We are so happy to be close with both our families, they are the bomb.com! At our wedding we had the chance to have everyone together (which doesn't happen very often) so we made the most of it with lots of pictures!

Junior is our dog and we love him so much! Shane says he is the closest thing i can have to a baby right now so we really spoil him. He is the purdiest yellow lab this side of the mississippi.
Shane and Junior just sittin by the campfire. We love taking him on all our little expeditions, he always makes it interesting... What would we do without him swatting at flies and chasing squirrels!?
Here is him as a puppy, we got him the day we got home from our honeymoon so we both just think of him as part of the fam, for better or worse!
